Realogistics International (Beijing) Co., Ltd. provided comprehensive logistics supports for the transport project of an Iranian oilfield of a large state-owned petroleum player during October - December, 2015
1. Target of operations:
Large equipment of the drilling platform of the oilfield - LWD (Wireless Logging While Drilling) system
2. Transport modes:
Land transport + Sea Transport + Land transport and Land Transport + Air Transport + Land Transport
3. Transport route:
In accordance with special requirements of the customer, Realogistics Beijing forwarded the goods by means of air and sea transports in Shanghai and asked its cooperative agent in Turkey to declare in Turkey, then accomplished delivery at BAZARGA port at the Turkey-Iran border.
4. Description of difficulties in operation:
1) The Realogistics project team developed two transport solutions for the customer based on different durations for different products of the whole project: Power-supply facilities and main parts for construction were delivered by air, and non-urgent and overweight items by sea, so as to ensure smooth and orderly construction process and save transport costs to the greatest extent.
Meanwhile, the Realogistics project team took control of the risks in overall operations of the goods. Each step from goods takeover and photographing, lashing, packing, storage, consolidation, cargo space booking, through transit till delivery at the destination port was reported and updated in a timely manner.
2) Diversified cargo categories (a total of over 100 types of products) including silicone oil & grease, lubricating oil, magnetic substances. After careful study of the goods descriptions and detailed communications with the customer, the Realogistics clearance team classified all goods, applied for all necessary inspections before transport and clearly categorized all products, which ensured smooth shipment customs inspections.
3) As 60 individual battery units were covered in the goods, pursuant to relevant provisions of IATA on battery (dangerous goods), the Realogistics transport team provided professional 4G package for the batteries, applied for package filing at the local Commodity Inspection Bureau, assisted the customer in document collection and filling inspection, transported them to Turkey in all-cargo freighter and later arranged special vehicles for transit to Iran in Turkey.
4) The operating chain of Realogistics was always focusing on the customer’s needs. Disregarding the time difference, Realogistics maintained close communications with the receiver and customs broker in Iran, helped with any issue at the destination port, and confirmed that all documents for several cargo batches could ensure smooth clearance and receipt in Iran.
In the end, Realogistics managed to deliver several cargo batches to the destination in different ways, highly recognized by the customer.
